Check dates for the show ↗Quick answer
The Pirámide de Arona is on Avenida de las Américas in Playa de las Américas, in the south of Tenerife, within the Mare Nostrum Resort area. If you stay in the resort you may be able to walk. Otherwise the island's TITSA buses, taxis and ride-hailing apps serve the south. Arrive early: some reviewers mention queues and wish seats were allocated.
The address
Turismo de Tenerife gives the venue as the Pirámide de Arona Auditorium, Las Américas Beach, Avenida de las Américas, in Playa de las Américas. The conference organiser EuChemS lists it within the Mare Nostrum Resort, at the Cleopatra Palace Hotel. Hello Canary Islands places it in the Arona municipality in the south of the island. Your voucher is the document to trust for the exact entrance on the night, so read it before you go.
The resort around it
Wikipedia describes Playa de las Américas as a purpose-built holiday resort in the southern part of the Arona municipality, built in the 1960s a short distance from the fishing village of Los Cristianos. It lists bars, nightclubs, restaurants, attractions and beaches. Most visitors to the show are already staying somewhere in this strip of the south coast or in neighbouring resorts, which is why the show can be an easy evening on foot or by a short ride.
By bus
TITSA runs the island's bus network. Spring Hotels' guide to getting around says the buses link Los Cristianos, Playa de las Américas, Costa Adeje, Puerto de la Cruz and Santa Cruz, and that they can take longer than driving. This guide gives no line numbers, stops or timetables, because they change. Check the operator's current timetable for the evening you go, and look at the last service before depending on the bus home.
By taxi or ride-hailing
The same guide says taxis are widely available and suit short trips, and that Uber and Cabify also operate on the island. After a show that ends late, a taxi or a booked ride is the simplest way home for a party with children, because everyone leaves at once. Decide before the show ends where you will pick up a ride, and keep the address of your accommodation to hand.
On foot
Spring Hotels says that in Playa de las Américas and Los Cristianos many beaches, shops and entertainment venues are within walking distance. If your hotel or apartment is close to Avenida de las Américas, walking may be the simplest option in both directions. Check the route on a map beforehand, and keep a second option for the way home.
If you are staying elsewhere
Spring Hotels says the bus connections from Tenerife South Airport are frequent and convenient for reaching nearby resorts, and that buses connect Playa de las Américas with Los Cristianos and Costa Adeje. If you are staying in a neighbouring resort, a bus, taxi or ride may bring you to Playa de las Américas easily enough, but check how you will return. A party staying further away should add margin to the trip in both directions.
Arriving early
Some reviewers mention queues and say they wish seats were allocated. This guide cannot confirm how seating works on a given night, because the booking page does not set it out, so the safe plan is to arrive early and read the voucher for the entry steps. A party that wants to sit together has the most to gain. Early arrival also gives children time to settle before the show starts.
Who this isn't for
Planning a late bus home is a poor fit for a party with small children or limited mobility: a taxi or a ride booked in advance is easier. Visitors based on the north of the island or in the mountains face a longer trip, and should check their own transport before choosing an evening show in the south. Access for wheelchair users is listed, and the booking page is where to confirm the details before you travel.
Before you leave the hotel
Carry the voucher, a charged phone, the start time from the booking calendar and the address of your accommodation. The ticket carries no food or drink, so decide where you will eat. Then leave early enough that a queue or a slow ride does not cost you a seat.
